Who Am I (and why I created Metabolic Reset)

Hi, I’m Sarah Ahern
I’m a certified Metabolic Health Coach and founder of Metabolic Switch.

Before becoming a health coach, I spent years working as a beauty therapist.(I still do 2 days per week) Day after day, I sat with women who were exhausted, frustrated, and over it.
They were sick and tired of feeling unwell, living on medications, and following all the “official” dietary advice, yet still struggling with weight, energy, and health problems.

I kept thinking, this isn’t right. If the advice worked, why were so many people feeling worse, not better?

That was the turning point. I decided to train as a health coach because I wanted to get to the root of the problem, not just help people cover up the symptoms.

Now, after years of living a low-carb lifestyle myself (over 25 years), I help people cut through the confusion, balance their blood sugar, and finally feel in control of their health.

Since then, I’ve worked with lots of clients, from women battling sugar addiction, to pre-diabetics now in remission, to corporate clients needing more energy and focus at work. I was honoured to be awarded Prekure Metabolic Nutrition Coach of the Year 2023, and I’ve collaborated with leading doctors in New Zealand on reversing type 2 diabetes.

Do I have to eat keto?
I get it, when you hear the word keto, you might think it’s a fad, too hard, or all about eating bacon and butter. That’s not what this is. Metabolic Reset uses a proven ketogenic approach based on whole, real foods, meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, healthy fats,that helps lower insulin, balance blood sugar, and allow your body to heal.

Being in ketosis (a natural metabolic state your body is designed for) is the most effective way to reset your metabolism. You won’t be counting calories, going hungry, or doing anything extreme, we focus on simple, nourishing foods that keep you satisfied while your body gets back into balance.



Can I do this if I’m vegetarian or vegan?
Metabolic Reset isn’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans. Meat and other animal-based foods are an important part of the healing process and essential for the results we’re working toward.

If you follow a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, this program won’t be the right fit, but I can help you connect with a coach who specializes in plant-based nutrition, so you can still get the support that works for you.

What if I’ve tried other diets and failed?

Perfect, because this isn’t another “diet.” Diets focus on willpower, restriction, and short-term results. Metabolic Reset is different. We work on healing your metabolism and on healing your relationship with food.
